Best Free Backup Software
There are many windows backup software available and this time I will list some free backup software that you can try:
#1 EaseUs To-Do Backup
The free version of EaseUse To-Do backup software is probably one of the best ones out there. It can back up all of your files and folders, including your driver partitions and even disk images. Not only does it backup your files, but it also contains recovery options added in as well. Good thing about this free backup software is that it has a nice Graphical User Interface (GUI) to boot, which makes it a lot easier to manage your files. For a free 90mb software, it’s a very good deal. The only downside to it is that in order to get all of its additional features, you’ll need to purchase the paid software. The free one works just as fine though. This might be your best bet on getting the best free backup software out there. EaseUS® Todo Backup Free 4.0 compatible with Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000.

#2 Areca Backup
Areca Backup is an open source free backup software that supports both Windows based computers and Linux. It has the usual set of backup features and has Archive recovery, merging and deletion. It also has archive compression and encryption for additional security. This software has Delta Backup, which gives you the option to only store modified parts of your files. Only downside to this software is that it doesn’t have ghosting features of disk partitions.
#3 Cobian Backup
This is probably one of my favourite free backup software due to its simplicity and ease of use. It comes with features of full, incremental and differential backups as well as file encryption for data security. Backups can be saved on all kinds of devices ranging from CDs, DVDs, USBs and external hard drives. You can also schedule regular routines of backing up your files, may it be differential or full backup. The developer of this software constantly updates it so new features are added to it regularly. Cobian backup works for Windows XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, Windows 7 in both 32 and 64 bits Windows
All of these are very efficient in serving as our backup plan when it comes to securing our documents in our personal computers. It’s hard to say which of these is the best free backup software as there are still a lot of other ones out there on the Internet. It’s all going to depend on what features of the product it is that you need, and what free backup software you are most comfortably with using.
Just take note, whatever windows backup software that you’ll be using, remember, try to place your backup files on removable media devices for safer storage as compared to backing up your files, say, on a separate partition. This ensures that you have it physically separated if ever your computer crashes or gets infected by a virus.
